Welcome back everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your week off and are ready to get back into the swing of things :)
Due to technical difficulties, please expect a delay in my weekly video. You won't be able to see my face but that's okay! Here is what I would have talked about: 1) STARTING TODAY! All teachers are required to take attendance in their Google Classroom each day that we assign new work. Aka, YOU will need to complete the attendance question (you can find this under "classwork") for ELA each Monday and Wednesday. If you do not complete the attendance question by 3pm, you will be marked as absent for that day. 2) Agenda: - Take attendance - Read AFTP Act II, Scene 3, 4 & 5 - Complete the AFTP Act II, Scene 3, 4 & 5 Discussion Worksheet - Answer the weekly question 3) The weekly question is..... What did you do over Spring Break?? As always, let me know if you have any questions! :)

Welcome to week 3 of online distance learning! I hope you all are doing well and are having a better time adjusting to our new system, now that we are a few weeks in. Agenda: - Take the AFTP Act I Quiz on Google Form (the link is posted to google classroom) - Complete the Character Traits worksheet Both assignments are due by Friday, but can be turned in at any time. Let me know if you have any questions! Ms. Alvarez Good afternoon everyone!
I apologize for the delay in today's agenda. I promise this will not be an issue in the future. I was at CMS helping with curbside pick up and could not access a computer to send out the agenda. Thank you to all the families that were able to come through to get hard copies of needed documents. Your support is greatly appreciated!! Agenda: Wednesday, 25 March 2020 - Read Anne Frank The Play: Act I, Scene 4-5 - Complete the discussion worksheet for Act I, Scene 4-5 Homework assignments should be submitted via Google Classroom for credit. Let me know if you have any questions! Ms. Alvarez Good Afternoon Everyone!
Earlier today, Mr. Brauneisen sent out a message explaining our new model for online learning. As he explained, ELA will provide instruction on Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, March 25. Students will be expected to check our Google Classroom each Monday and Wednesday morning in order to access the day’s materials. Each of these assignments should be worked on the day they are assigned. However, the assignments are not officially due until Friday, each week, by noon. Beginning tomorrow, March 25, the 7th grade English department will be collecting assignments digitally, for those who are able. When students click on the worksheet that will appear tomorrow morning, they will have the ability to edit the document directly, completing the assignment through Google Classroom, allowing teachers to score these assignments at the end of each week. These grades will appear in Jupiter. In regards to the beginning of this unit - the assignments for “Anne Frank” Act 1 Scene 1 & 2 worksheet and Act 1 Scene 3 worksheet, the 7th grade English teachers would like to collect these assignments sooner than we initially explained to students. We ask that you scan or photograph your completed worksheet, and attach it to the assignment listed in Google Classroom for that scene. In addition, we will accept any late or absent assignments for the Tolerance Card and Propaganda poster in the same way. Tomorrow, there will be an assignment posted in Google Classroom in order to allow students who attended STN, or were absent or late with these assignments, to submit them for credit. On Mondays and Wednesdays, there will be two periods of time where I will be directly reachable for clarification and any questions students may have. During these time periods, I will be available for near-immediate responses. I will be available to provide such clarification otherwise, but will require some response time outside of these selected periods. I will be available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 AM to 10 AM as well as from 1 PM to 2 PM. Ms. Casino and I will also be communicating with students through weekly check-ins. In addition, we will be sending weekly Jupiter messages to all parents. We ask for your continued communication as we navigate this digital learning period together. Please reach out with any questions, or any clarification you may need. Ms. Alvarez Happy Monday everyone!
While school is temporarily closed, class will still be taking place via Jupiter Ed, Google Classroom and my website. I will be posting the daily agenda that we would have been following in class on each "odd" day. As recommended by all of your teachers, you should be using the time you would normally be in school, to complete the assignments that have been assigned to you. In order to keep yourself from being overwhelmed, it would make sense to complete your assignments by odd and even days. If you have ELA on odd days, then you should complete this assignment today and if you have ELA on even days, then complete this assignment tomorrow. If at any point you have questions for me, please do not hesitate to send an email my way. I will be available from 8:30am-3:30pm to immediately answer any of your questions! Thank you, Ms. Alvarez WELCOME!
Hello, everyone! Welcome to our classroom website! This is the space you can turn to throughout the year to stay updated on everything English! If you are ever absent or maybe just need a refresher of what we did in class on a particular day, you will find what you need here. I will do my absolute best to update the website daily with the agenda from that day and any assignment instructions or handouts that align with it. This website, along with Google Classroom, is here as a tool for you but please do not hesitate to also reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have at any time! :) I can't wait for a great year with you all! |
